Made to order

I viewed my third design for Horizon 5 as an opportunity to put the frustrations of a new interface behind me and refocus my efforts on the creative side of things. At the end of the last post, I said that I was working on some “next-level goofiness”. Well, the final results are here and I think the words crisp, or slick would be more suitable stand-ins. Penguin Plunder is a partial recreation of an illustration I finished in Inkscape a few weeks ago. The design was created using the Forza Motorsport 7 design editor and applied to a 2017 Ford Focus RS.

Going into this design, I knew penguins and burgers were on the menu. However, the neon red accent along the side of the car was a lucky accident. It made sense at that point for the wheels to follow suit. On the hood of the Focus RS, our penguin waiter is bathed in a dramatic rose petal flourish. The elements on the back of the car finally came together after quite a bit of time fumbling through various ideas. Of the three designs I’ve created for Horizon 5, Penguin Plunder feels the most polished and well executed. The final layer count is 979. This design is up and ready for download in Motorsport 7 and Horizon 5. If you are downloading it in Horizon 5, you can find Penguin Plunder using the share code 174716064. Be sure to hop on the game (or games) and drop a like to show your support for my work. I’ve got more on the way so check back soon for the next post.
